James Farr SASOLBURG. - Raw sewage incorporating human and pig excrement has been running unchecked into the Vaal due to two damaged pumps. This was reported by Ecoworld ranger Mr Alex de Koker who says the riverbanks are turning into an evil-smelling spectacle. Mr De Koker is the spokesperson for 14 000 residents and farmers in the area of Groenpunt Prison toward Deneysville; he says there should have been four pumps there, not two. |

With this in mind, I must voice my utter amazement and disgust that the Sedibeng District Mayor, his partner and three other members of his Mayoral committee and their partners spent R480 000 on World Cup tickets, travel and accommodation to Durban and Port Elizabeth.

This follows damage sustained by vehicles that traverse potholes, complaints about non-working street lighting, accidents caused by motorists veering to avoid potholes, damages to pop-up garden sprays used to water sidewalks in front of houses, etc. |

Lazarus Dithagiso SASOLBURG. – Metsimaholo Municipality has warned residents to stop dumping illegal material at the water pump station and into the sewerage network. They say residents are experiencing leaking pipes because they deposit stones, animal skins and disposable nappies in waste-water pipes. Metsimaholo also repudiates allegations by Refengkgotso residents that Council knowingly puts their lives at risk. |
